Description
The Nest in Branford, Connecticut is seeking a full-time prep cook (30-40 hours per week) for its progressive food program. We serve children (infants through kindergarten) mostly organic, local and whole food daily, Monday through Friday.
*This is a temporary position from March 2025-July 2025 for a maternity leave coverage. There is an opportunity for a permanent position at one of our locations: Hamden, Branford, or Fairfield.
What you will do:
- work alongside our Chef
- daily prep of snacks and lunches for 3 schools
- communicate clearly, professionally and effectively
- promote and contribute to a positive team environment
What you need:
- at least 2 years of prior kitchen experience
- energetic demeanor, team player
- strong work ethic and integrity
- strong knife skills
- basic baking experience
- Serve safe certification a plus

Required shift: On-site 8-hour, daytime shift Monday through Friday
Compensation: $18-$20 per hour, based on education and experience
