Busy single-specialty surgical practice is looking for someone with good experience in helping patients understand how best to plan for any balances that may be generated from services depending on their insurance coverage options.

  • Representing NIOS in a manner that ensures a positive service image and tone for the organization.
  • Accepting deposits for upcoming procedures, scanning the appropriate documents in the patient chart.
  • Educating patients on their insurance coverage and benefits as the plan related to planned services provided by NIOS.
  • Generating a Good Faith Estimate for self-pay and out of network patients requesting formal documentation of projected expenses.
  • Obtaining payment and/or offering NIOS in-house payment plan or application for outside financing.
  • Supporting patients who have non-participating carrier in negotiating one-time case agreements for services, as needed.
  • Researching and reviewing practice patient responsibility and self-pay accounts, making outbound calls to resolve any outstanding balances.
  • Effectively communicating relevant account balance information to patients, addressing any questions.
  • Answering account balance Patient inquiries via phone, effectively communicating relevant account balance information.
  • Following up on broken payment plan accounts, and actively working with patients to resolve.
  • Adding applicable patient insurance and resubmitting to Insurance Payer as needed.
  • Assigning uncollectible account balances to Collection Agency in accordance with Payment Policy.
  • Maintaining a level of productivity suitable for the department.
  • Clearly documenting steps taken on behalf of patients and/or NIOS within practice management system.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
