What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Maintenance Technician position at The Neurosurgical & Spine Institute of Savannah?
Daily Responsibilities:
· Conducts routine inspections and general maintenance on building structures, grounds and non-medical equipment for the purposes of identifying and resolving potential hazards.
· Completes general maintenance such as plumbing repair, replacing electrical outlets and light bulbs, changing air filters, interior paint and furniture moves.
· Performs preventative maintenance on essential utilities and non-medical equipment.
· Diagnoses and troubleshoots mechanical, electrical and plumbing issues, securing external service providers as needed to make repairs and perform warranty work.
· Manages relationships with current NIOS contracts including housekeeping, landscaping, HVAC, construction, etc.
· Responds to emergency situations and resolves building concerns
· Checks eyewash stations (weekly) and fire extinguishers (monthly) per guidelines.
· Coordinates with appropriate entities to certify that fire equipment and elevators are up to code.
· Support administration in quarterly staff training per OSHA guidelines.
· Manages the budget and timeline for special projects and regulations.
Required Experience:
· High school graduate or equivalent.
· General knowledge of all trades to include electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, fire protection and mechanical.
· Two years of maintenance and/or housekeeping experience preferred.
· General knowledge of OSHA, fire prevention, and other safety regulations.
Skills Needed:

· Ability to work a flexible schedule and handle multiple projects.
· Ability to respond to emergency calls outside of scheduled work hours
