Medical Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Manage the patient check-in processes efficiently
- Confirm or update patient demographics manually or via mobile check in tool
- Process insurance information, including Medicare, and verify patient eligibility
- Assist in scanning and indexing important documents (ID, insurance card, imaging reports, registration forms, etc.) into the appropriate software programs
- Verifying office visit charges have been entered in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborate with other medical staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized reception area
- Utilize office management systems effectively to streamline operations
Skills/Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role is required
- Familiarity with EHR systems such as Allscripts, NextGen, eCW, athenahealth, etc.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
- Clean background and credit history required
