Well established, fast paced Neurosurgery practice looking for an experienced Payment Posting Specialist to join our team. Please review the responsibilities and requirements below.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately posts payments from various sources like checks, electronic funds transfers (EFTs), and electronic remittance advices (ERAs) to patient accounts based on EOBs and other relevant information.
- Posts approved contractual, non-contractual and denial code adjustments daily.
- Matches payments received with corresponding invoices and patient accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Corrects account details in system, including patient demographics, insurance information, payment amounts, and transaction codes.
- Investigates unidentified payments, unapplied balances, and billing errors, contacting others as needed to clarify information.
- Ensures a balance between revenues recorded by the bank and Practice Management System(s) at month-end.
- Reviews return mail and corrects any addresses as needed to reissue statements.
- Scans batches and front desk reports into Document Management System.
- Identifies items that need to be added or updated within Practice Management database, including insurances, worker’s compensation plans, referral sources, claims notes types, etc.
- Reviews and works tasking queue(s) as assigned.
