Purpose of Position:
We are looking for a skilled System Administrator to oversee the management and maintenance of our virtual environment, as well as both Windows and Linux servers. This role involves system monitoring, performance optimization, ensuring data backups, enforcing IT policies, and providing technical support. The ideal candidate will focus on maintaining the stability, security, and efficiency of our IT infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and manage effective IT solutions.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments.
- Administer and support Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Monitor system performance to ensure server availability, reliability, and efficiency.
- Regularly apply OS updates, and manage administrative tools and utilities.
- Continuously optimize performance, upgrade hardware, and manage resource usage.
- Oversee data backup and recovery processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues as they arise.
- Develop and enforce IT policies and procedures for architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, procurement, and service delivery.
- Provide technical support and training to internal staff.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in system administration, specifically with virtual and Windows systems.
- Microsoft certification (e.g., MCSA) is preferred.
- Strong experience in Windows server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale virtualized environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills:
- Experience with Scale Computing is a plus.
- Proficient in Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
- System monitoring and performance tuning expertise.
- Skilled in backup, recovery, and technical support.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Salary : $100,000 - $135,000
