Description
SUMMARY: The Utility Worker will work as part of a team to perform a variety of tasks required for safe and efficient operation of their assigned process area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Required to efficiently and safely perform clean- up and operational tasks for the assigned production process.
- Required to operate manual valves and inspect a range of processes.
- Required to perform housekeeping tasks for the assigned process area.
- Required to be an active participant of all safety efforts, including adherence to policies and procedures.
- Will work as a group and independently to accomplish an assortment of tasks.
- Will serve as a task runner for various responsibilities
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.

- The employee is frequently required to pull, push, or lift heavy weights of paper, baling wire or strapping, or “breaker” bars (wedge with wooden handle, used to start a roll moving).
- Employee will occasionally be expected to push rolls of paper that weigh 1,000 to 10,000 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The noise level in the work environment is loud.
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
- Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Frequently exposed to hot and/or cold conditions.
- Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles; vibrations.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, with a degree in Manufacturing Technology preferred.
- Minimum of (2) years of experience with a stable work history, preferably in manufacturing
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Ability to operate industrial machinery (such as fork trucks and control panels) and testing/measuring instruments.
- Must have functional knowledge of basic computer systems
- Ability to work at various heights, temperature and weather conditions.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to include overtime.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions including reading a tape.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Team-oriented and self-directed.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Must show proficiency in mathematics, locating information and reading for information which will be assessed and measured by the Work-Keys Profile
