We are seeking a highly motivated, socially engaged, and creative thinker to serve as the Assistant Director of Housing Operations and Billing to work in the department of Housing Operations.
The Assistant Director of Housing Operations and Billing serves as a member of the Housing Operations team and reports to the Director of Housing Operations. The Assistant Director leads and manages all aspects of housing assignments, billing, room changes, emergency housing and housing accommodations. This position works in conjunction with the Director of Housing Operations to develop, implement, and manage occupancy and revenue projections, and assessment of housing operational processes. The Assistant Director of Housing Operations and Billing works collaboratively with campus partners to implement all aspects of housing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages, leads and audits all housing assignments and billing for approximately 1,500 residents each semester,ensuring all housing assignments are approved and audited.
- Oversees the processing of all room changes, approved housing accommodations, and emergency housing requests..
- Serves as one of the department's primary contacts for students, parents, faculty, and staff on housing assignments and billing issues.
- Assists with the development of standardized operating procedures and business plans, including the housing license agreement, housing cancellation process, immunization compliance, consolidation, evacuation, relocation, opening, closing, damage billing, key / card access, and coordinated residence hall security.
- Assist with the oversight of StarRez to manage all housing business operations, including contracting, application development, occupancy management, payment, assignments, and communications.
- Collaborates with Marketing and Communications, senior leadership, and housing staff to develop and implement housing marketing strategies and branding efforts, including print, website, and social media marketing, to promote the on-campus experience.
- Works Collaborates with academic departments, Admissions, Registrar, Student Health Services, Facilities Management, Card Services, IT, Campus Safety, Dining Services, to forecast housing operational needs, facilities and service viability.
- Responsible for ensuring that departmental occupancy records are maintained; develops reports on both a regular and as-needed basis. Support applicable enterprise systems by troubleshooting and addressing issues affecting services provided to students, faculty, staff, and other university clients.
- Supports and manages resources for students looking for off-campus accommodations, including the off-campus resource and tips portion of the departmental website.
- Assists with university-wide events, including housing fall early arrivals, residence hall openings, and Commencement.
- Serves on departmental and university committees and leads initiatives as needed related to housing operations, including summer programs.
- Represents The New School at summer and academic year housing recruitment events as required.
- Attendance and support is required for all hands on deck events which include but are not limited to opening, closing, Admitted Student Days, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Education, Business, or related area required plus at least 5 years' experience in housing field required, or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
