What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Digital Content Creator, Social position at The New School?
We are seeking an experienced social media producer, creator, and director of photography with a strong portfolio in video and audio editing to assist the work of the Digital Engagement department at The New School.
The Digital Engagement group is part of The New School’s Marketing and Communications department, and plays a critical role in elevating reputation, building advocacy, and supporting enrollment efforts for the university and its schools. As students spend more time online and shift away from traditional marketing platforms in their college research process, the content produced by this hire will directly impact our relationships with prospective students and drive enrollment.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Engagement, the Senior Creator leads the department’s video and photo production, with a bias towards rapid response video production. The Senior Producer also leads the social media strategy for the department’s YouTube channel and supports strategy across other social channels, including ideation for series for Instagram and TikTok.
Social media works on a cycle of hours and days, rather than months or semesters, so we expect this person to be able to work quickly and with a high standard. They should have a love of social media, and an ability to create content that’s sensitive to the needs and expectations of our key audience. This person will direct other staff and student workers on shoots, taking an idea from conception to execution.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States as The New School is unable to sponsor visas at this time.
The New School is strongly committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace and particularly seeks applications from members of underrepresented groups, as well as candidates who share this commitment.
