The New School is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, socially engaged university administrator to serve as Office Manager for Student Health Services (SHS), the on-campus student health center. This position assists in the daily operations of SHS, and supervises the clerical support staff. This position supports the high level operational and technology needs and data of SHS. The Office Manager reports directly to the Associate Director of Student Health Services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Oversee and facilitate day-to-day operations of SHS, including multiple email accounts, phones and student check-in / front desk.
- Assist Associate Director with management of the student health insurance program. This includes responding to health insurance emails and calls, processing appeals and health leaves, reviewing weekly enrollment files, assisting students and their families in resolving problems relating to claims filed, and creating and maintaining insurance materials for distribution to students.
- Supervise Senior Office Assistants and other clerical positions.
- Manage clerical staff schedule and provide back-up phone and coverage as needed.
- Supervise student office workers.
- Assist with management of medical and counseling provider schedules and ensure appointments are scheduled appropriately.
- Manage ACD Telecommunications software and process statistical usage reports.
- Provide monthly statistics for health insurance operations and general SHS emails and calls.
- Develop and conduct workshops and informational sessions for insurance and immunizations as needed.
- Assist with immunization program including email correspondence, data entry, and verifications, and respond to calls on dedicated immunization phone line.
- Oversee file storage process in accordance with medical file storage laws.
- Oversee office supply inventory.
- Participate in orientation activities and other university programs as necessary.
- Submit work orders for office repairs and ensure timely completion of requests.
- Perform other general office related duties as assigned.
