The New School in NYC is the only university where a world-renowned design school comes together with premier undergraduate and graduate programs and colleges to create a more just, beautiful, and better-designed world. The Technology Center Supervisor role works with Learning Space Operations to support Information Technology's pursuit of providing The New School community with top-notch customer service. The ideal candidate is patient, empathetic, communicative, and interested in learning the latest technology. Our team of Technology Center Supervisors can put themselves in the customers' shoes and advocate for them when necessary. They are confident troubleshooting issues and investigating deeper to resolve customer complaints. The Technology Center Supervisor will work with and supervise student workers to maintain the operational support of our spaces.

This is a 1205 Professional position subject to the terms and conditions agreed to in the collective bargaining agreement between Teamsters Local 1205 and The New School.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Direct oversight and training of Student Workers providing first tier support and customer service working in tandem with the Manager to ensure services are running as intended. Train, supervise, lead and mentor part time staff and student workers.
- Understanding of Audio Visual equipment including projectors, cameras, lighting, printing, scanning, computers and software, audio recording, and microphones.
- Expected to perform quality control of equipment, reservation systems, tracking repairs, printing systems, and facilities work order, to ensure follow up by appropriate staff.
- Manage checkout and return of equipment and rooms. Monitor inventory of consumables (paper, toner, pens) and ensure they are replaced as needed.
- Administrative tasks according to assigned focus areas. Tasks include records keeping, part-time schedule hour tracking, testing new systems and other seasonal projects in preparation for the start of each academic term, finals and overnight support.
- Adhere to policies on vacation use limitations. (Blackout periods during finals, etc.)
- Meet professional expectations such as schedule, check in / check out, shift reports, etc.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
