Position Overview
This position will support the NYC Community Interpreter Bank, a community program which the NYIC has undertaken to enhance language access and increase the supply of trained, vetted legal interpreters.
Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Associate will play a pivotal role in assisting with the daily operations of the NYC Community Interpreter Bank.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Administrative duties:
- Manage and maintain the scheduling calendar for all hired interpreters.
- Coordinate and dispatch interpreters to meet the demands of interpretation requests.
- Track and record interpretation requests, assignments, and interpreter availability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of interpreter credentials and certifications.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and training of interpreters.
- Respond to inquiries from clients, interpreters, and community partners, providing excellent customer service.
- Help develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to promote the interpreter bank’s services.
- Occasionally moves or carries materials weighing 50 lbs or less.
- Monitoring, Data Analysis, Reporting, and Other Duties:
- Maintain and update databases with interpreter credentials, availability, and assignment records.
- Maintain and innovate systems to efficiently collect, organize, and analyze data relevant to the interpreter bank and required deliverables using Salesforce and other technology (include maintaining records related to interpreter assignments, client information, and program metrics).
- Assist with evaluation and reporting for the interpreter bank, including assisting with completing quarterly reports to track key performance indicators and inform strategic planning.
- Gather and analyze feedback to track service utilization of the interpreter bank, including the number of requests, types of services provided, and languages in demand.
- Delegate administrative tasks to interns and fellows as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in interpretation services, social work, administration, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace as well as data and project management tools (e.g., Asana, Salesforce, Excel, etc.).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in interpretation services, social work, administration, or a related field.
- Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer.
