This position is for someone interested in assisting with the operations of a community studio and contributing to community development through tech education. The ideal candidate will support programs for adult learners of diverse cultures and experiences using the studio to tell their stories creatively.The Technology Training Programs department offers tech classes in more than 80 libraries across the Bronx, Manhattan, and Staten Island.This position is a temporary 1-year part-time position with the possibility of extension.Responsibilities : As a Studio Associate, you willHelp facilitate studio operations, including such as providing administrative support, coordinating studio schedules, conducting equipment inventory, and participating in studio maintenance / repair projects in tandem with Studio staffProvide one-on-one support to patrons working on projects in the studio, media workstations, or labsFacilitate materials circulation and processing, including equipment and device loans checkout and lendingCommunicate studio procedures to library patrons, including studio booking, equipment handling, and space useConduct patron studio assessments as part of the Studio Access Track program and process new library cards, including some data entryAs needed, assist with coverage of studio recording sessionsHelp facilitate educational programming and special events related to studiosSupport ad hoc projects in tandem with Studio staffBrainstorm media center projects and innovations as part of an adaptive, creative teamRequired Education, Experience & SkillsRequired Education & CertificationsHigh School diploma or its equivalentComplete the studio orientation processRequired ExperienceA minimum of one year of relevant experience, education, or aptitude for working with audio, video, or photography production technology and pro-grade equipment.Required SkillsStrong interpersonal skillsStrong organizational administrative skills including fluency in email and Google Suite.
