What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Operations Assistant (Part Time) position at The New York Stem Cell Foundation Research Institute?
The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) Research Institute is a highly successful nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate cures through stem cell research.
We are seeking a temporary Laboratory Operations Assistant (Part Time) to assist our Lab Operations team with maintaining the laboratory stockroom inventory and other laboratory operations tasks as assigned. You will report to the Laboratory Operations Manager, work closely with the rest of the Laboratory and General Operations team, and interact with other NYSCF team members, including scientists, facilities, and other members of the NYSCF lab staff.
This is a part time, non-exempt position. You will be expected to work 10-25 hours per week. This role requires an on-site presence at our office in Manhattan. Your schedule can be flexible, but it must be Monday through Friday during business hours of 9:00 am - 4:30 pm.

What you’ll do:
- Receive incoming packages and properly store items; store cold items in fridges and freezers
- Data entry and inventory tracking
- Liquid Nitrogen inventory auditing and swapping gas tanks
- Assist with medical waste pick-up
- Scan Packing Slips
- Lab restocking, washing lab coats, and autoclave as needed
- Ability to lift 40-50 lbs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google sheets
- Attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with a team
- Proficiency in Spanish is a plus
