Job Description
The New York Times is looking for a creative and ambitious reporter to cover the array of non-traditional media organizations – including those behind newsletters, podcasts and new video formats – that are growing in popularity and influence.
The correspondent will jump on news, lead investigative pieces, produce scoops, and write profiles of the characters and companies behind these organizations, as well as the content they produce. The person would be responsible for helping to shape the beat.
The ideal candidate will have a record of distinguished beat coverage, including a proven ability to break news, spot trends, develop sources and produce deeply reported features. The candidate should be adept at writing in a variety of formats, able to juggle deadline demands with long-term efforts, and be both comfortable and creative with a full set of digital and multimedia tools. An ability and willingness to collaborate with colleagues is a must.
This Guild position is expected to be based in New York.
Responsibilities
