Job Description

The New York Times is looking for a video senior producer with experience in digital video editorial production and post-production to help oversee The Daily’s weekly video podcast, and other series across our portfolio of newsroom audio shows.

You will oversee the editorial, production, and stylistic components of a weekly news and politics-focused video podcast with The Daily. You’ll also lead a team responsible for story planning, shooting, editing and publishing our work to mobile, social and digital audiences.

You are a manager with a background in news, a thoughtful eye for the week’s most important political stories, and experience live producing a news-driven show. This role requires a deep understanding of podcast video production and post-production, and someone can help conceive of fresh visual approaches. You understand social video trends and take a creative and adaptive approach to video formats and techniques.

You must see both management and collaboration as central to your work, and will provide strategic guidance on how to visualize stories, working with producers, reporters, cinematographers and editors to support our creative vision.

This is a hybrid position based in New York City and includes regular attendance in the office each week per your departmental guidance.

  • Direct The Times’ on-camera talent as needed
