Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Summary
We are a dynamic metal stamping operation in search of multi-trade Industrial Maintenance Technician to perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Experience with Industrial maintenance required; corrective/breakdown experience preferred.
- Thorough working knowledge of industrial equipment, its usage, and safety procedures.
- Self-motivated, responsible, and safety oriented.
- Good communicator and ability to take direction.
- Ability to learn and apply standard tools and techniques to solve problems.
- A positive “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to manage time and responsibilities independently, taking personal responsibility for performance.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Must have a flexible schedule, willing to work rotation shifts and some over time.
Job Duties
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets alignment, conveyor systems, production machines, etc.
- Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and using precision measuring tools.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.
- Comply with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
- Determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, and alignment equipment.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Monitor compliance.
- Optimize maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling correction of abnormalities.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Skills and Qualifications
- Must be familiar with the use of: Multimeter, Megger, DC & AC Amperage Clamp Meter, General tools
- Must be proficient reading and Interpreting Blueprints, Mechanical and Electrical Prints.
- Must be able to troubleshoot the following systems and processes while working the floor: AC Drives; DC Drives; Servo Drives; and AC, DC, and Servo Motors
- Machinist and Mechanic Skills: Drill, Grinder, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Valves, Pumps, Lubrication systems
- Strong welding skills preferred
- PLC experience preferred
