Job Title - Occupational Therapist

Job Duties :

The Occupational Therapist will report to the Head of School / Principal / CEO and will complete but is not limited to the following duties :

• Assist in planning, preparing, and implementing treatment plans, and maintaining records (including lesson plans, daily notes, progress reports, and IEPs) for individual sessions, small groups, and integrated classrooms.
• Ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team environment, including working with the transitions team.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice, including knowledge of current research supporting best practice in occupational therapy in the educational setting.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, clinical reasoning, and professional judgment are essential to ensure the safety of students and protecting the liability of the school and the therapist.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to ensure staff understand student occupational performance strengths and needs, through assessment, educational program planning, and service delivery.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrate findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.
• Provide targeted evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.
• Record occupational therapy services to maintain accountability for service delivery and to comply with standards required for appropriate reimbursement.
• Maintains clinical and administrative records following professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy.
• Use professional Code of Ethics and standards of practice to guide ethical decision-making.
• Support the philosophy and vision of The Newgrange School.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
