What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Creator Relations position at The News Movement?
About you:
As we continue to challenge how news is delivered, we are looking for a Head of Creator Relations. Working directly into our newsrooms and across other business units such as product and commercial. You will be the core of the business, helping to broker, develop and strengthen relationships with creators as we continue to grow.
This role demands an entrepreneurial and mature approach, with room to grow a community of understanding about our business and how creators can play a role in shaping our presence online.
About The News Movement:
The News Movement (TNM) is a new media business bringing together leading industry figures and passionate journalists to help reset how we tell “the news” in an era of declining trust and increasing misinformation. We know that many voices are missing from the present conversation - we want to change that.
We are driven by our purpose - to help millions of people around the world be better informed. We will do that by solving the under-supply of trusted, objective, high-quality news and useful information on social media and other digital platforms.
We are comprised of three core brands: TNM, The Recount and Capsule.
We are particularly focused on serving younger social audiences. Our newsroom teams believe that factual unbiased journalism can be told in different and exciting ways via the channels that our audiences already enjoy. We want to explain the world and uncover the stories that matter.
Our commercial team - which operates in tandem with our newsroom editorial team - are taking the lessons learned in our newsroom to help brands tell their stories. By applying the rigour of journalism, storytelling skills, and social understanding we are able to help brands navigate the digital space. Our areas of expertise include content creation, creator management, and consultancy. We offer account management services for brands looking to tap into the younger generation of audiences with a tone of authenticity and brand alignment.
Day-to-day you will:
- Grow a strong, multi-vertical network of creators that can be actively tapped into to support the company across editorial, product, and commercial needs.
- Work with our newsrooms across UK and US to identify appropriate creators for news stories (both long and short form)
- Build and maintain a community of creators through one-to-one comms; events; newsletters and regular online discussion sessions
- Work with our product team to support building new technology which allows creators to monetize their content
- Source creators for commercial clients, brokering involvement in ways that bind them to our mission
- Work in a vibrant team, growing your own headcount/team as opportunity progresses, as well as working closely with leadership to ensure you’re able to create your own revenue streams
The skills we look for:
We are agnostic to background - be that in agency, a creator yourself or in-house at a brand. You will, however, have a broad and wide experience working with creators across platforms and genres, to craft campaigns that have driven results - be that followers, engagement, sales or awareness.
We would like you to be responsible for relationships that not only deliver for the business in the short term, but also establish an internal track record which allows you to grow a ‘community’ of creators on our behalf. We would like to explore how we frame this to the outside world, and, as such would like to also see this results-driven record teamed with a creative mind that sees the future potential for powerful relationships.
Creativity
As we know, this sector is shapeshifting all the time. We want to see evidence of how you have professionally grown alongside the creator industry and how you feel it has changed in recent years - the challenges you see ahead and the opportunities you see for a brand like TNM.
Negotiation
Everyone is different. While there are some standards set for creator negotiation, we also appreciate that the art of creator negotiation isn’t linear(!) We would love to see you demonstrate different ways of monetizing our approach and evidence a deep understanding of the different social platforms that allows us to broker using new, fresh methods.
Editorial and/or client liaison
As part of this role you will work closely with both marketing and editorial teams. You will be expected to make informed decisions on which creators align with our editorial standards and brand goals, ensuring that those we recruit maintain the integrity of our newsrooms and the vision for our platform. In addition to balancing brand messaging in creator briefs, you’ll be a key decision-maker in ensuring creator involvement meets our editorial criteria, helping maintain audience trust and platform safety. A strong record in stakeholder management, internal and external, is essential.
Ambassador and spokesperson
As a mature operator and leader in the sector, we will look to you to represent The News Movement as industry events and flex your own network to play an ambassadorial role in ways that help amplify our reputation and make growing a creator community effective.

Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
