Gallery Director Responsibilities
Administrative
- To manage all TNPS activities.
- To report to the Board of Directors at the monthly board meeting all matters affecting the activities, finances, property, and reputation of TNPS.
Programs
- To provide leadership and vision to achieve the highest artistic quality and professionalism in all educational program areas.
- Working closely with program coordinators, staff, and volunteers, the Gallery Director oversees the Exhibitions, Lease/Purchase, Special Events, and the Education department.
- To see that each of the above operates in a professional manner, establishing procedures and policies for all departments.
Planning and Development
- Leading Fundraising efforts, including supporting the board's involvement in fundraising, personally cultivating and soliciting donors, supervising staff development, and implementing fundraising plans and policies approved by the board.
- To work with the Board of Directors in creating and maintaining a long-range plan that will support the mission and address the capital and staffing needs required for the growth of TNPS.
- Research and write grants and ensure the grants management meets the required criteria.
- To assist with and participate in all TNPS fundraising, receptions, and special events.
- Prepare the permits for special events, including liquor licenses.
- To be responsible for cash handling at special events by self or staff.
Public Relations
- To represent TNPS to the community, the public, and local, regional, and statewide constituencies.
- To exert the best efforts to enhance and preserve TNPS’s reputation, with special emphasis on allocating TNPS resources to educational programs that benefit the community.
- Ensure that membership thank you letters and benefits for the various membership levels are fulfilled by support staff/volunteers.
Financial
- Determine accounting and budgeting practices and procedures necessary for sound financial management per the legal requirements and advice of the Executive Board and auditors.
- To prepare and present the annual budget and monthly comparison of the budget to actual cash flows, charts, etc., with the help of the Treasurer.
- To oversee the handling of TNPS income and expenses, including maintaining appropriate financial records and controls.
- Analyze and oversee payment on a timely basis for all TNPS obligations.
- To ensure proper management and audit financial systems.
Other Financial responsibilities
- include:
- Maintaining QuickBooks accounts for all financial records.
- Monitoring the cash level in the banking accounts
- Prioritizing the payment of bills
- Processing check requests based on requests from staff and approved by the Executive Director.
- Reviewing all monthly financial reports for accuracy.
Facilities
- To ensure the proper management, maintenance, repair, and preservation of TNPS equipment.
- Oversee the building, including insurance, maintenance, and lease agreements.
- To periodically evaluate, prioritize, and recommend repairs or improvements to the facilities or equipment.
- To oversee the facility's aesthetic presentation to the public and enhance the workspace.
Hours
Wednesday-Saturday 10 AM-4 PM
Some evenings and weekends required.

Pay: $480.00 - $720.00 per week
