Title: Estimating Technician/Quantity Surveyor
Summary of Position: The analysis of construction documents to prepare quantity surveys used to generate cost estimates for cast-in-place concrete projects.
Education/Experience Requirements:
Individuals must have experience with the following:
· Commercial construction with an emphasis in structural
· Reading commercial construction documents
· Knowledge of modern construction methods
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis in Excel
· Proficient computer skills
· Computer file management skills
Preferred Skills:
· Familiar with the construction contract procurement process
· Experience with Bluebeam Revu
· Advanced Excel functions
· Familiarity with Quantity Surveying
Desired Skills:
· Familiar with Bluebeam Quantity Link
· Experience with Structural detailing
· AutoCAD and Revit experience
· BIM modeling experience
Expectations and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty efficiently and satisfactorily. The individual must be competent with computers, applicable software, file types, have moderate typing skills, and have professional communication skills. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
1. Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifically: structural, architectural, civil, landscaping, and a moderate understanding of MEP plans.
2. Procurement and maintenance of construction documents (i.e., plans, specifications, addenda, supplemental instructions, geotechnical reports, schedule, etc.).
3. Perform detailed and accurate quantity surveys for concrete materials and accessories.
4. Record data into the estimate template to determine equipment, labor, material, subcontractor, and other requirements.
5. Conduct project-specific investigations to support cost estimates.
6. Consult with project-relevant associates to resolve any construction issues before the bid (i.e., subcontractors, vendors, project managers, customers, etc.).
7. Responsible for reviewing plans, quantity surveys, bids, and proposal letters of other Estimators.
8. Conducts and performs proper communication and collaboration with other departments as needed.
9. Develop, maintain, and cultivate relationships with current, past, and potential customers that work in parallel with the company’s plan and objectives.
Salary : $60,000 - $98,000
