Position Overview :
We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and experienced individual to build and lead a thriving middle and high school student ministry at our church. The Associate Director of Student Ministry & School Engagement will focus on fostering strong relationships, spiritual growth, creativity, and service, with a special emphasis on connecting with students in both church and school settings. This role will require active engagement with students, families, and the local community to build trust, meet needs, and create a vibrant Christian atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities :
Student Ministry :
Inspire and encourage students to engage in weekly student gatherings, such as fellowships, Bible studies, and confirmation programs. Build strong relationships with students and their families, keeping church staff informed about any pastoral needs. Lead and develop volunteers to organize impactful and engaging student ministry programs. Visit local middle and high schools regularly to build relationships with students and faculty. Disciple teens not currently involved in ministry programs, fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
School Engagement :
Establish a presence in local schools to develop rapport with students, faculty, and staff, fostering relational trust. Explore and develop partnerships between the church and local schools, leveraging opportunities with sports teams and staff for engagement. Support the Parents First Initiative by coordinating events, workshops, and meetings to enhance communication and involvement.
Other Duties :
Actively participate in worship services to engage with the congregation. Communicate the vision and opportunities of the ministry to church stakeholders. Assist with various church events and activities as needed.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills :
- A vibrant, mature Christian faith with a passion for youth ministry.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A goal-oriented, self-starter who builds strong relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and social media platforms.
- 2-3 years of experience in community outreach or ministry settings.
- Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
