Job Title : Director of Communications & Marketing
Full-Time / Salaried
Range : $38,000 to $45,000
Job Summary :
The Director of Communications & Marketing is a key member of the church staff responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communication strategy that effectively engages the church community, promotes the church's mission and vision, and strengthens relationships within the community. This role requires strong communication, recruiting, marketing, and organizational skills, with a focus on creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of the church's values.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Communications :
o Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with the church's mission and vision.
o Continually evaluate and amend communication channels (website, social media, email, etc.) to increase effectiveness and engagement.
o Develop and implement marketing campaigns for key church events (Easter, Christmas, special services, fundraising).
o Create high-quality written and visual content, including website copy, social media posts, newsletters, flyers, and promotional materials.
o Manage the church website, ensuring it is up-to-date, user-friendly, and effectively communicates the church's message.
o Oversee the creation and distribution of church publications (bulletins, newsletters, etc.).
o Develop and manage email marketing campaigns.
o Build and maintain relationships with community partners and organizations.
o Promote the church within the community through various channels.
o Explore opportunities for community outreach and engagement.
o Collaborate with ministry leaders to develop and implement communication strategies for their respective ministries (Children’s Ministry, Student Ministry, Preschool, Sports & Recreation, etc.).
o Provide support and guidance to ministry teams on communication best practices.
o Recruit, train, and mentor a team of volunteers to assist with communication and marketing efforts.
o Assist with administrative tasks as needed, such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and ordering supplies.
o Provide occasional support to the front desk, including greeting visitors and answering phones.
