Job Title: Residential Group Home Manager
Location: Newark, NJ
Salary: $55,000 - $85,000

services offered by The North Ward Center.
Key Responsibilities include:
● Supervising daily operations of the home to comply with all the rules, regulations,
and policies that apply.
● Developing policies, guidelines and procedures based on experience and need;
follows DDD and The North Ward Center (NWC) policies and procedures as
described in Division Circulars and NWC Policy Manual.
● Directing, supervising and training staff; coordinates staff schedules to ensure 24
hour / 7 day coverage; conducts staff meetings; evaluates staff performance;
arranges for and provides external and internal training activities including
required DDD core training; performs other administrative functions as required;
provides emergency coverage when needed.
● Adhering to standard health precautions and ensuring the well being of residents
by following up on medical, dental and emotional health requirements,
communication, social, recreation, and ADL skills, family/community functioning,
financial, training and habilitation needs; may accompany residents to
appointments; may administer prescribed and over-the-counter medication.
● Maintaining safety and security by making periodic inspections, conducting fire
drills according to schedules, enacting safety procedures, and training residents
and staff; ensures that licensing standards are maintained at all times; conducts
house meetings for residents and staff meetings for direct care employees.
● Supervising individual medical, activity, financial, and other recordkeeping and
ensures that required records and reports are completed and submitted
according to requirements; serves as IHP coordinator for individuals who reside
in the home.
● Coordinating individual and group social activities.
● Taking the lead role in annual licensing.
● Maintaining ongoing communication with family, case managers and others;
participates in case management conferences or other meetings relating to
concerns of individuals; interacts with residents' family members and friends and
facilitates communications, coordinates activities with day program staff.
● Assisting residents with money management and ensures that an individual's
funds are expended as desired.
● Supervising upkeep of the home in terms of safety, cleanliness and comfort;
coordinates maintenance and repair of home and all equipment; orders and
maintains supplies as needed.
● Overseeing administration and storage of medication and keeps medical records
secure.
● Ensuring availability of safe transportation; may drive residents as needed.
Qualifications:
● 3 years of successful employment working with adults with disabilities in a group
home setting
● BA/BS degree in Social Service or related field strongly recommended.
In lieu of degree, additional experience (5 years) in a group home setting will be
considered
● At least 1 year experience working in a supervisory capacity
● Valid driver's license in good standing
