The Estimator organizes estimating activities of specific projects as they relate to estimating and preconstruction activities. This candidate MUST HAVE MULTI-FAMILY EXPERIENCE. The Estimator prepares accurate and well-crafted bids/proposals that result in awarded contracts that are profitable and maintain the quality expected from the NRP Group. The Estimator is also a key person in developing and nurturing relationships with our vendors and clients. The Estimator works under very tight time frames and is responsible for handling multiple bids/proposals and responsibilities simultaneously.
Essential Functions Statement(s):
Schedule
- Create a job specific preconstruction schedule.
- Set-up and attend pre-bid walk-throughs.
- Quality
- Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals and other documents during the various stages of design.
Budget
- Develop invitation to bid.
- Review and analyze subcontractor proposals.
- Create overall project bid summary.
- Review bid summary with director of preconstruction.
- Management
- Create the project general conditions.
- Solicit vendors and subcontractors for a project and ensure good bid coverage.
- Create scopes of work for all subcontractors.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Construction Management a plus) or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- 1-5 years of relevant experience estimating construction projects; multi-family experience preferred.
- Familiarity with conceptual estimating, writing detailed scopes of work and reading blueprints.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel for tracking construction costing.
- Experience with On-Screen Takeoff and Sage estimating software programs a plus.
Driver’s License Required: Yes
