Numina Group is a fast-growing company located in Woodridge, IL, that specializes in designing and implementing warehouse automation systems. We are currently seeking a full time Install / Service Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in both electrical and mechanical systems. The candidate will be expected to be self-motivated and work as part of a team to resolve customer issues and determine root cause of given issues.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify and resolve technical issues with equipment or systems. Perform diagnostic tests and inspections to ensure proper functioning.
Repairs and Maintenance: Perform routine and emergency repairs on a variety of equipment, machinery, or systems. Ensure the continued smooth operation of all equipment by following scheduled maintenance plans.
Installation and Setup: Install and configure new systems, machinery, or devices, ensuring proper setup and calibration according to manufacturer specifications. Perform I/O check ensuring that all input and output systems of a device or machine are functioning properly.
Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance activities, and system performance. Prepare detailed reports and log all actions taken during maintenance or repair. Documenting service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in a timely and detailed manner.
Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and supervisors to address and resolve technical challenges. Provide guidance and support to junior technicians or trainees.
Travel: Technicians must manage their travel time effectively to ensure they arrive on schedule and complete tasks efficiently. Technicians must follow company travel policies and are responsible for booking travel arrangements and submitting travel expenses for reimbursement.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret technical layouts, schematics, documentation and diagrams.
- Understanding of industrial wiring and I/O (Beckhoff, ITOH and Allen Bradley)
- Understanding of pneumatic systems.
- A solid understanding of networking protocols, hardware, and software is essential. Familiarity with technologies such as VPNs, firewalls, and wireless networks is preferred.
- Strong communication & customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical staff.
- Comfortable using a Windows computer for daily work (timesheet, expenses, reports).
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment used in the install, maintenance and troubleshooting of Numina equipment
- Solid device configuration skills which include the ability to set up, optimize, and troubleshoot various types of electronic devices, from laptops to network equipment and automation devices called out in the hardware section below.
- Prior 480V/MDR conveyor install/maintenance experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in warehouses and distribution centers is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel (overnights) from up to 75% throughout North America with 5-7 years or more of previous travel experience preferred.
- Associates/bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent technical training with 5-7 years’ experience is required.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in a crouched or kneeling position or on back while subjected to dust, dirt, and grease conditions.
- May be subjected to moderate noise levels and temperature changes.
- Requires reaching, stretching, pulling and pushing as well as climbing stairs and ladders.
