What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at The O'Connor Group?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the financial operations of the company
- Work in tandem with plant management to prepare the annual plant budget, plant forecasts, mid-month reports and financial reporting packages
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
- Responsible for tracking capital projects, capitalization of the fixed assets, recording FA dispositions, determination of depreciation rates to apply to capital assets
- Review and approve of all wire requests including support documents, preparation of all close JE's, maintenance of the standard cost systems and other
- Manage the general ledger accounting process and perform account reconciliations
- Collaborate with internal teams to provide financial analysis and support for decision-making processes
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business from a four year college and five years related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
- Cost Accounting, General Accounting and Auditing and Data Processing
- Strong technical accounting skills, including experience with complex transactions and revenue recognition
