What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admissions Assessment Coordinator position at The Oaks Academy?
The Oaks Academy is seeking an Admissions Assessment Coordinator to manage all aspects of testing for new students. The coordinator manages the testing and evaluation of applicant students for all grades, but mostly for Early Education (Pre-K - 2nd grade), and conducts parent consultations. The coordinator supports the school's efforts to enroll students from March through August each year, working an average of 20 hours/week.
The Admissions Assessment Coordinator:
- Prepares and maintains an organized, attractive, and safe testing environment for applicants and meets and greets applicants, making them feel welcomed and at ease
- Oversees testing environment and process, setting the tone for an inviting, low-stress experience for them
- Corrects assessment tools and records results in a timely manner, reviewing test results and discussing them with the parent
- Manages relationship with parents (informative written communications, conferences as needed, responds to phone calls and emails in timely fashion)
- Maintains accurate and complete records, promptly submitting them for Admissions decisions
- Coordinates with Heads and K-2 directors to ensure seamless, clear communication and appropriate/accurate setting of academic expectations with prospective parents.
- Consults with K-2 director on IEPs, etc.
The Admissions Assessment Coordinator:
- Warmly welcomes students and parents, effectively communicating with children, using age-appropriate instructions
- Demonstrates and applies their organizational skills
- Confidently communicates test results to the parents
- Maintains confidentiality and sensitivity in all school matters

- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Education
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the school’s mission, educational philosophy, and Core Values
- Models godliness and high character, teaching the habits of formation by example
