Position Overview :
As a Laundry Aide at The Oaks , you will play a key role in ensuring that linens, towels, and residents' personal clothing are washed, dried, folded, and distributed efficiently. You will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the laundry areas while adhering to all safety and infection control procedures.

Key Responsibilities :
Wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident clothing, linens, and towels according to facility guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laundry room and surrounding areas.
Sort laundry by type and color, ensuring proper handling of delicate items and personal clothing.
Ensure that all linens and laundry are handled and processed in accordance with infection control standards.
Operate laundry equipment (washers, dryers, ironing machines) safely and efficiently.
Assist with inventory management of laundry supplies, notifying the supervisor when supplies are low.
Ensure proper labeling and tracking of resident clothing to prevent loss or mix-ups.
Report any laundry room maintenance issues or damaged equipment to the appropriate staff.
Assist with maintaining a safe, sanitary, and organized working environment.
Qualifications :
Previous experience as a Laundry Aide or in a similar role in a healthcare or long-term care setting is preferred, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle laundry items with care.
Knowledge of proper laundry procedures and infection control practices.
Ability to operate laundry equipment safely and efficiently.
Compassionate, resident-focused attitude with a commitment to excellent service.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good physical stamina and ability to lift and move laundry items.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
