The Oaks Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, located in the heart of Zanesville, is a leading skilled nursing facility committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care. We are currently seeking a Medication Aide (MA-C) to join our dedicated team and help support the health and well-being of our residents.

Position Overview :

As an MA-C at The Oaks, you will play a crucial role in administering medications, monitoring patient health, and supporting the overall care plan for our residents. You will work closely with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to ensure the highest level of care and assist in the smooth daily operation of our facility.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Medication Administration : Administer prescribed medications to residents in a timely and accurate manner, following facility protocols and physician orders.
  • Resident Monitoring : Observe patients for any changes in condition or medication side effects, and promptly report concerns to the nursing team.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate medication records and update care plans as needed. Ensure compliance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring : Assist with taking and recording residents' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, ensuring that any significant changes are communicated to the nursing team.
  • Patient Education : Educate residents and families about medications, potential side effects, and care instructions.
  • Supportive Care : Assist residents with activities of daily living as necessary, providing comfort and ensuring a dignified and supportive environment.
  • Infection Control : Follow strict infection control protocols to ensure the health and safety of all residents.
  • Collaboration : Work alongside RNs, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and positive resident outcomes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Current Medication Aide Certification (MA-C) in the state of Ohio.
  • A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols for medication administration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience with electronic health records (EHR) are preferred, but not required.
