Position Overview:
As the Plant Operations Director atThe Oaks Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility’s physical plant and equipment. You will lead a team of maintenance staff and work closely with the administration and other departments to ensure the facility is in top condition, meets all safety regulations, and provides a safe environment for both residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all aspects of facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and renovations.
Supervise and train the maintenance staff, ensuring that they are properly equipped to perform their duties efficiently and safely.
Perform regular inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment to identify maintenance issues and ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and fire codes.
Coordinate and oversee the repair and maintenance of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and other essential facility systems.
Develop and manage a preventive maintenance program to ensure that all equipment and systems are in good working order and to avoid unexpected breakdowns.
Ensure the facility is compliant with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and fire safety standards.
Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, ordering materials as needed.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests and address facility issues in a timely manner.
Work with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance projects.
Ensure proper documentation of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and completed work orders.
Assist with facility inspections for regulatory compliance and address any maintenance-related concerns raised during inspections.
Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications or a degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience in facilities or maintenance management, preferably in a healthcare or long-term care setting, is required.
Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire safety systems.
Experience in managing a team and overseeing the work of maintenance staff.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, infection control protocols, and other regulations for healthcare facilities.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, residents, and contractors.
Ability to work flexible hours and be on call for emergency maintenance issues.
