LOWER SCHOOL:
LONG-TERM SUBSTITUTE KINDERGARTEN TEACHER
The Oakwood School is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Long-term Substitute Kindergarten Teacher to join our Lower School team from January 6-May 30, 2025. In this role, you will work alongside a dedicated assistant teacher to guide and support our Kindergarten students' growth and learning.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons in core subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies, in alignment with Oakwood's curriculum.
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages creativity, curiosity, and a love of learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adapting instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success and well-being.
- Maintain classroom routines and procedures that ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
- Participate in grade-level meetings, parent conferences, and school events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field required; teaching certification preferred.
- Experience working with young children, ideally in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to supporting students' individual needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Pay: $12.00 - $26.00 per hour
