Summary
Under the direction of the Intensive Services Manager, the Parent Partner is responsible for providing individual peer support, education and guidance to client’s under Intensive Services program. Parent partner will provide psycho-education and guidance to clients and families under intensive Services Program during Child and Family Team Meetings in order to ensure that their best interests are represented. Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Essential Functions
- Provides peer support, education and guidance to parent(s)/caregivers for Intensive Services clients.
- Participates in the Child and Family Team meetings to assist with the planning, coordination, and implementation of the clients’ Child and Family Care Plans.
- Provides first-hand knowledge about navigating various systems (i.e., Child Welfare System, Probation, education, health, community resources, etc.) as a result of having lived experience as a parent or caregiver.
- Participates in various meetings including, but not limited to staff meetings, team meetings, committee meetings, and Child and Family Team meetings.
- Participates in 24/7 on call crisis rotation which provides in-person de-escalations as needed during on-call week.
- Participates ongoing trainings for Parent Partners agency wide.
- Promote agency services and programs through outreach of the community.
- Maintains complete and timely documentation of client services.
- Attend trainings for Parent Partner Training Academy for continued education
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or certificate from an accredited business school, or educational equivalent.
- One-year experience in service coordination/social service experience working with special needs children.
- Ability to provide first-hand knowledge about navigating the Child Welfare System as a result of having lived experience navigating a particular system
- Personal DCFS case or probation case (if applicable) must be closed at least 1 year at the time of hire
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of various types of software (e.g. Word, Excel).
- Ability to function as a member of an inter-disciplinary team
- Must have own transportation, a valid California Driver’s License, and the required automobile insurance coverage.
- Must be able to work with a diverse group of people from various ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills & interpersonal skills
Environmental Conditions (Working Conditions)
- The environment for this position is an office environment as well as working within at-risk areas including home and school based services. Driving is required when in the field, own transportation is required.
Secondary Functions
- Overtime, Holiday, or weekend work may be required.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
