The Deviation Analyst is essential in facilitating the strategic oversight of indirect supply categories. This role focuses on the meticulous analysis, identification, and effective management of manufacturer deviations and special pricing agreements to ensure competitive advantage and cost optimization.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Analysis: Conduct comprehensive investigations into existing or prospective manufacturing deviations and special pricing to uncover opportunities for enhanced cost efficiency and procurement strategy optimization.
- Vendor Negotiations: Support Sales with the negotiation process with manufacturers, aiming to secure advantageous deviations and price agreements that reflect the company’s best interests.
- Supplier Partnership Management: Foster constructive relationships with principal manufacturers and distributors, aiding in the coordination and maintenance of favorable pricing agreements.
- Rebate Management and Reconciliation: Collaborate with the deviation claim team to align deviation and rebate processes, facilitating accurate rebate calculations and effective vendor relations.
- Strategic Initiative Support: Provide analytical insights for Request for Proposal (RFP) activities and category management efforts, leveraging deviation data to guide decision-making and improve savings along with vendor competitiveness.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Area of Study: Business, finance, procurement, or a related discipline
- Minimum Years of Experience: 1
- Type of Experience:
- Proven experience (1-3 years) within the distribution or business services industry, focusing on financial analysis or supply chain management.
- Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, organizational skills, and a well-focused approach to tasks.
- Excellent communication proficiency, capable of engaging effectively across all company levels and demonstrating acute attention to detail.
- Technical Competencies & Information Systems: Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on advanced Excel analytics and analytics tools (DBeaver, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI preferred).
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to contribute significantly to cost-saving initiatives and indirectly influence the company's bottom line.
- Ability to engage with multiple facets of the business and external partners.
- Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written in English.
