About the Office of Assistance and Accountability (OAA) :

The OAA is a Milwaukee-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering transparency, providing targeted support to underserved communities, and driving systemic accountability. Over the past year, we’ve laid the groundwork for this transformative initiative, developing a clear vision and mission and initiating foundational projects to address the critical needs of our city.

We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced  Executive Director  to guide our continued growth and ensure the effective realization of our mission.

Position Overview :

The Executive Director will serve as the operational and strategic leader of the OAA, overseeing all aspects of the organization. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that the OAA’s mission is fulfilled through program development, strategic planning, fundraising, and community collaboration.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Leadership and Strategy :
  • Refine and execute the OAA’s strategic plan in alignment with our established vision and mission.
  • Build on the progress made to date, ensuring the organization continues to grow and positively impact Milwaukee.
  • Operational Management :
  • Oversee daily operations, including program execution, staff management, and adherence to nonprofit governance best practices.
  • Establish policies and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Fundraising and Financial Oversight :
  • Secure and diversify funding sources, including grants, individual donors, corporate sponsorships, and community partnerships.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
  • Community Engagement and Advocacy :
  • Build strong relationships with community leaders, partner organizations, and public officials to further the OAA’s mission.
  • Represent the organization at public forums, events, and in the media to enhance visibility and community trust.
  • Board Collaboration :
  • Partner with the Board of Directors to set strategic priorities, evaluate progress, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Provide regular updates on operations, finances, and programs.
  • Program Development :
  • Expand and strengthen programs that address systemic challenges and foster transparency, accountability, and community empowerment.
  • Ensure programs are outcome-driven and responsive to community needs.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Nonprofit Management, Social Work, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience, preferably in nonprofit management or a related field.
  • Proven track record of securing funding through grants, donations, and partnerships.
  • Strong knowledge of Milwaukee’s community dynamics and a commitment to addressing local challenges.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working collaboratively with Boards of Directors and other stakeholders.
