What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teller position at The Ohio Educational Credit Union?

We are currently searching for an experienced, motivated and dependable individual for our Oberlin Office.
- Greets and interacts with members and guests in a professional, positive manner.
- Supports branch and OHecu goals for growth and member service.
- Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount and examines checks for endorsements. Follows procedures for verifying identity and identifying fraudulent transactions/documents.
- Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
- Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions and issues computer generated receipts.
- Places holds on deposits according to established procedures. Follows government regulations and security guidelines.
- Balances currency, coin and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen. Immediately reports any discrepancies to the Branch Manager
- Explains, promotes or sells products or services such as travelers checks, savings bonds, money orders, and cashier's checks. Refers members to the MSR's for additional information on OHecu products and services.
Qualified candidates will have a successful work history in a customer service position with cash handling/transaction responsibility - preferably in a financial services environment .
A good record of attendance and punctuality are required. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential. Must have a strong working knowledge of computers - experience with financial services systems preferred.
This is full-time position (approx. 37 hours per week). Tuesday through Thursday 8:15am to 4:30pm. Friday 8:15am to 6:00pm. Saturday 8:15am to 1:00pm.
