Education Program Specialist-MSTP

The Education Program Specialist coordinates activities for the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) for the College of Medicine. Organizes and provides support for coursework and other didactics within the MSTP, including working in the Student Information System (SIS), Carmen/Canvas, Microsoft Teams, and other educational platforms; secures classroom space, maintains course creation and deletion, enrollment monitoring, curricular updates, and support to faculty with tracking and grading; in collaboration with individual program leaders, supports MSTP admissions, and outreach initiatives and events; provides administrative support to MSTP student/trainee organizations and groups, including the coordination of elections, newsletters, and student spotlight for marketing and communication purposes; interfaces with both internal stakeholders (faculty leadership, faculty across various programs/departments, administrative leadership and staff, and Ohio State vendors) and external partners (non-Ohio State vendors, professional organizations, etc.); oversees Individual Development Plan (IDP) process (timing, communication, required documentation, tracking, implementation of DocuSign annual summary letter process); in collaboration with MSTP Administrative Director, monitors and reports aberrations in trainee milestone progression (candidacy committee meetings, candidacy exams, application to graduate for graduating students, dissertation defense scheduling); serves as liaison with Bioethics for MSTP Roundtable experience and MSTP Bioethics course; maintains course list/curricular requirements in MSTP Handbook; coordinate logistical support for all information sessions; monitors clinical preceptorship program (CPP), professional development sessions; education/training, scheduling meetings and scheduling meetings with graduate programs and medical school groups, correspondence with student cohorts about scheduling and tracking progress; performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 2 years of relevant experience required. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
