Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The Facilities Compliance Specialist within the Department of Facilities Services functions to inspect, monitor and maintain all safety and regulatory compliance equipment, systems, and programs pertaining to the fire, life, construction and environmental safety at the Medical Center. This position encompasses all aspects of facilities safety, planning and maintaining safety and regulatory programs. The position will conduct surveillance and inspection rounds, which will include environmental safety, life safety, fire safety, facilities, equipment, etc. The position will document, make recommendations, communicate and follow through with inspections and report findings to the Director of Facilities Services and other Department Leaders in the Medical Center. Responsibilities will also include actively promoting the values of the Buckeye Spirit in support of absolute customer satisfaction. Operations of the Health System are ongoing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Position Summary
The Facilities Compliance Specialist is responsible for the inspection, documentation, and communication supporting all Medical Center facilities to ensure compliance with Local, State, and Federal code authorities and the Joint Commission standards. This position interacts with contractors, hospital team members, Facilities Management, Medical Center leadership, and outside regulatory bodies. The position will deliver presentations including compliance findings, recommended actions for correction, and preventive education with stakeholders across the Medical Center.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience required.
- Computer Software knowledge and experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, coordination, and planning skills.
