Position Scope/Summary
The James Clinical Call Center Triage RN is responsible to be the primary responder to manage telephone calls within the defined scope of practice as established by the Ohio Board of Registered Nursing for established James patients. The James Clinical Call Center Triage RN is responsible to complete an initial call assessment and then triage the call based on the assessment. The James Clinical Call Center Triage RN uses established triage algorithms to guide the assessment and interventions that need to be taken. The James Clinical Call Center Triage Nurse is responsible to document the assessment and management of the call into the organizational electronic medical record. The nurse will be responsible to follow up and assist in resolving post-discharge or post-procedure calls that require additional intervention after initial post-discharge/post-procedure call completed. They will also be the clinical resource for James scheduling staff for referral based needs.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN)- preferred
Minimum of 3-5 years’ nursing experience – preferable in an outpatient setting Basic PC and keyboard skills required.
Experience in telephone assessment and management – preferred
Required Qualifications
Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Three years of oncology experience required.
