Scope/Position Summary
The RN-PCC coordinates the patient care team in providing and documenting patient care in accordance with applicable standards of practice; applies nursing process to all areas of practice; manages and provides health care and education to patients and their families during hospitalization; assesses, implements, coordinates, delegates and evaluates nursing care of patients; prioritizes patient care needs and provides care accordingly; performs specialized nursing care procedures as outlined in department/unit-specific competency profiles; coordinates patient encounters, admissions, transfers and discharges; provides leadership to, and development of, patient care team; identifies opportunities for improvement in patient care and organizational processes; participates in performance improvement activities; participates in medical and nursing research activities.
Minimum Qualifications
For Hire: Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing. Current Ohio license or interim permit. Previous experience in a relevant care setting preferred (Critical Care, Progressive Care Unit, and/or Radiology/Imaging Nursing).
Ongoing: Maintains and seeks new knowledge related to evidence based practice, patient care issues, quality improvement, cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols. Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements. Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions. Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
