Scope of Position:

The Unit Clerical Associate functions as an integral member of a unit team of patient care providers who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the RN-Patient Care Coordinator, the Licensed Practical Nurse LPN, the Patient Care Associate (PCA), and the Unit Clerical Associate (UCA), provides patient care and supportive services that are directed toward achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in the plan of care, improving service levels, reducing the length of hospitalization, and decreasing costs. Patients and their families will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members.
Position Summary:
The UCA is responsible for coordinating and gathering all documentation related to the patient chart. The UCA also provides a variety of clerical support services under the direction of the PCC-RN and in collaboration with other members of the patient focused care team. Overall responsibilities include processing of orders, verification of forms for accuracy and completeness and dissemination of information on the unit.
