What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSPS Recruitment and Engagement Specialist position at The Ohio State University?
The BSPS Recruitment and Engagement Specialist will work to strategically implement the undergraduate recruitment plan with the goal of converting and yielding new first-year, transfer students, and regional campus students into the Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) program. This position will report to the Director of Recruitment and Admissions and will work with the Director on strategic goals and recruitment efforts for the BSPS program. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment strategies, marketing materials, programs, and events, targeting a specific segment of students. The candidate will be a self-starter, creative, driven, and be able to work independently but also work collaboratively on a team.
This is a highly visible position with the opportunity to be autonomous with the role and will play an important role in strategic sizing for the college. The Undergraduate Recruitment Specialist will meet with prospective students and their families, deliver academic overview presentations, coordinate Early Assurance Program (EAP) recruitment and logistical details, represent the College of Pharmacy at Undergraduate Admissions events including table fairs and traveling to in-state and out-of-state programs. The recruiter will use best practices to foster and create partnerships with Ohio State regional campuses and Columbus State Community College and implement strategies to recruit traditionally under-represented minority students. This position allows for unique oversight and management, recruitment, and training of the Undergraduate Student Ambassadors. This position will also assist with the management of the prospective student email inbox, collaborate with the College of Pharmacy Marketing and Communications team to develop marketing materials including emails, postcards, and giveaways, and manage administrative tasks such as e-requests and travel requests. Some evening and weekend hours will be required but not extensive. Duties will also consist of:
Conducting telephone appointments / interviews to provide information on the institution and college’s admissions process and requirements
Committing to the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students to the BSPS program.
Providing excellent customer service to students through application, enrollment, and initial term start
Supporting new students through the entirety of the admissions cycle
Assisting in the execution of university Admissions Department organizational processes/procedures
Assisting in the determination of internal rules, policies, procedures, controls, and manage processes to advance service levels
Build out relations and processes with regional campuses and Columbus State Community College
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2 years of relevant experience.
Other Qualifications: Experience in college advising and/or admissions, demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Excellent communication skills, including writing and public speaking. Strong organizational and analytical skills, ability to solve problems, work independently and with teams.
The pay range for this job profile is $41,641 - 54,766. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications. This position is paid hourly.
