Data Management Analyst

The Student Life Data Analyst is responsible for the maintenance and optimization of complex resource allocation models; works with multiple systems to acquire data and ensure data integrity; works independently to organize, analyze and transform data sets for use by various software; works with staff to identify business/system process efficiencies; identifies problems, anticipates needs and resolves data issues. The data analyst will manage multiple small and large-scale data projects in a high-volume and complex environment. Serves as business analyst to gather requirements, create and facilitate test cases and work with business users and application developers. Exercises independent decision-making while being responsible for analyzing data for accuracy, completeness and consistency. Works cooperatively with Student Life departments to develop operational and financial analysis that provide fact based analysis on results, trends and financial projections; assists in the preparation of financial analyses and presentations for departmental and/or senior leaders; develops reporting and analysis that provides clear insight into financial trends, emerging opportunities and challenges across the university and Student Life's diverse portfolio of programs, services and auxiliary operations; prepares and/or analyzes trends, forecasts, benchmarks, key performance indicators, dashboards, visualizations and ad-hoc reports to support Student Life decision-making and the strategic planning as assigned; and provides assistance to proposals and other special projects. Creates and maintains documentation for processes. Assists with monthly fiscal reconciliation of transactions for BuckID and SHI and identifies and implements business process efficiencies for these complex reconciliations utilizing advanced knowledge of Excel and reporting tools. This position also manages the asset management process for all of Student Life, which includes working closely with over 30 equipment custodians for over 1200 assets, This position will require a
strong attention to detail, critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and advanced proficiency in MS office and data visualization tools.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in computer/information science, finance, accounting, or relevant field. 2 years of relevant experience performing reporting, analysis and financial modeling in a large, complex organization. Fluent in working with Microsoft SQL Server, Excel Macros
Desired Qualifications
2-4 years of relevant experience performing reporting, analysis, financial modeling and/or data management in a large and complex organization; proficiency with Workday or similar enterprise financial system; working knowledge of Tableau Server or Microsoft Power BI.
Additional Information
Job profile salary range: $58,100 - $77,400
The offer for this position will be based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
