What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities E/E Sys Associate position at The Ohio State University?
Under the supervision of a senior technician or supervisor, performs tasks that ensure the uninterrupted operations of automated, electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Inspects, tests, troubleshoots, modifies, programs and repairs automated, electrical and electronic systems and equipment. Systems and equipment include but are not limited to: branch circuitry, fire alarm, security, public address, pneumatic transport, televisions, automated lighting, conveyors, and material handling systems. May assist with the maintenance and repair of de-energized power distribution systems and equipment. Responds to emergency situations and evaluates and corrects defects. Assists other trades as needed; adheres to all safety practices and procedures; cleans and maintains work areas and equipment; attends meetings; completes documentation; performs life safety and regulatory compliance testing,
provides a high level of customer service; communicates to customers, coworkers and supervision via written, electronic and verbal methods and devices; operates department vehicles; and performs other duties as assigned. Shift, hours, days, and/or location are subject to change based on operational need in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement; may work overtime; subject to 24 hour emergency call.

Minimum Classification Requirements:
High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of education and experience; two years’ experience in electrical or electronic systems with one year accredited training in electrical/electronic theory and principles and troubleshooting electronic and microprocessor equipment and circuits, or equivalent combination of education and experience; successful completion of probation includes demonstrated competence in one of the following technical specialties as determined by the needs of the department: branch circuitry or electronic systems.
Desired Qualifications:
Associates/technical degree or certificate in skilled trades/maintenance related field; valid OSHA 10-hour General Industry Health and Safety card
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $23.30 - $29.13 per hour
Regular 40 First Shift
