Supports hardware and software dedicated to research instrumentation; installs, configures, and recommends hardware dedicated to research computing and instrumentation; installs and configures software in support of research
computing and instrumentation. Consults with researchers on hardware and software acquisition in support of research computing and instrumentation. Consults with researchers and lab PIs to provide direction and technical solutions with respect to business continuity around computing resources dedicated to research instrumentation. Works with researchers to determine technical requirements and solutions around networking, file storage, and high-performance
computing environments. Consults with researchers and provides direction on specialized endpoint computers which have hardware, software, and operating system requirements that are outside standard configuration; builds computer
configurations and obtains computers that meet these needs. Responds to incidents and requests in research computing within established timeframes; logs tickets of ongoing and completed work within the service desk.
Collaborates with team members to establish, write, and refine processes around research service requests; adheres to and implements university guidelines regarding security surrounding requested research initiatives; documents
exceptions and reasons for specific instances where certain security measures cannot be met.
Effectively communicates with varying audiences of researchers and stakeholders to foster good working relationships.
Engages a wide variety of groups within CFAES, across the university, and throughout the larger state-wide research community to assemble and disseminate relevant information to facilitate research in CFAES. Works as a member of
the larger research computing services team; backs up and fills in for other members when they are unavailable.
Liaises with teams and members of the Office of Technology and Digital Innovation (OTDI) to develop potential solutions that are outside the current Service Catalog or Portfolio.
Provides direction to researchers regarding effective data management strategies; translates data management requests into provided technical solutions.
This is a hybrid position with a mix of working on campus and remotely.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience: 4 years of experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience in a related systems
area required.

The salary range for this position is $81,000.00 - $106,500.00 annual salary
