Job Title: Student Assistant Department: Dentistry | Sterilization-JM The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a student assistant to join the patient care team in the Central Sterilization unit to support various dental clinics. The student assistant position contributes to and is an important function in the health care delivery system. The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Central Sterilization student assistant position is needed to assist with transporting sterilized instruments to multiple clinics in the College and transporting instruments requiring sterilization back to Central Sterilization. The student assistant also assists with cleaning and replacing burs, and pouching patient clinical eyewear, stocking inventory and keeping the area clean; heat seals disposable clinical supplies. Work Schedule Monday - Friday, varying hours Position Requirements This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening. Candidate must be able to be capable of lifting / pulling / pushing up to 70 lbs., bending / twisting/ reaching below knees and above shoulders on a regular basis; standing / walking for periods of time; candidate must have the use of both hands. Experience and Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent; ability to stand and walk for long periods of time; Desired: Previous customer service preferred; Additional Information: Location: Postle Hall (0024) Position Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Scheduled Hours: 20 Shift: Varying Shifts Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
