The Web Application Developer in the Marketing and Strategic Communications department of the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management is responsible for front-end, client-side applications as well as back-end, server-side application development for websites serving the recruitment and retention goals of the university.
This position has a unique blend of responsibilities which include designing, implementing and maintaining enterprise level web-based applications and interfaces, including underlying business layers communicating with backend databases. Designs, programs, tests, and debugs applications according to WCAG accessibility specifications. Performs front-end development building Cloud Pages utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AMP Script. Troubleshoots and resolves application/database issues. Works independently and with project teams to ensure that applications are implemented according to project specifications and department guidelines, including code quality, documentation, security, accessibility, and brand guidelines. Consults with clients to develop workable solutions and projects requirements. Analyzes and learns new and current technologies for possible utilization to enhance the functionality of current and future applications. Measures website and campaign performance using modern analytic frameworks.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience in developing and maintaining web applications spanning multiple frameworks is required. 4 years of relevant experience required.
Ability to produce high-quality production-ready code that is cross-browser compatible and troubleshoot associated issues. Must have programming experience in a MS Windows/SQL database environment with version control, focusing on web and database systems. Minimum of three years working with ASP.NET. Two plus years relational database modeling, object-oriented programming. Proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Demonstrates experience in web application security and digital accessibility knowledge and practice. Adept in the use of Google Analytics. Proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
Desired
Advanced degree may be desirable. Experience with Umbraco, Vue.js, PHP and Drupal is a plus. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
