Public Safety Lead
The Old Globe Theatre seeks a Full-Time Public Safety Lead Team Member for its theatre complex in Balboa Park. As a member of the Public Safety Team, the successful candidate will help to maintain the safety and security of all patrons and staff on The Old Globe’s plaza, theatres, offices, and other company property.
The Public Safety Lead will assist the Public Safety Supervisor with managing all public safety operations and maintaining the safety and security of all patrons and staff on The Old Globe’s plaza, theatres, offices, and other company property. This position will regularly serve as shift supervisor, ensuring public safety personnel adhere to appropriate policies and procedures, are assigned daily duties, and take appropriate breaks. The Public Safety Team Lead will assist in managing and train/mentor Public Safety Team Members, delegating responsibility to appropriate staff, interviewing potential candidates, and perform other duties of the Public Safety Team such as valet parking, actor shuttles, property security, and interacting with patrons and guests. The Public Safety Lead is required to be onsite during evening and weekend performances and events, as well as some holidays.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated and familiar with general safety and security procedures. The Public Safety Lead must have the ability to lead a team and de-escalate conflicts in difficult situations, and have a strong work ethic. In addition, the Public Safety Lead requires a minimum of 6 months supervisory experience.
The hourly rate for this position ranges from $22.00 - $24.00 per hour. This is a full-time position with benefits including 401(k), health insurance, paid time off, and complimentary theatre tickets.
