Job Description:

Position Summary:

Responsible for sales and marketing of construction aggregates in designated market area. Work with VP Sales & Marketing, Customer Service and Admin team to ensure maximum market coverage and growth. Maintain positive relationships with all customers. Assist customers in making the best selection of materials for each situation. Maintain contact with operations as to material availability and keep them informed of special product needs. This role is not eligible for commission.

Ideal individual has a professional demeanor and will have some background in construction or aggregates whether it be on the ground or in the office, who is looking to grow their career and make an impact.


Requirements:

  • Call on and develop relationships construction aggregates buyers in the market area to meet their aggregate needs while achieving annual sales goals regarding sales volume, price and revenue.

  • Effectively administer and communicate quotations, sales reports, expense accounts, and any other sales data necessary to meet expectations.

  • Prospect and develop new customers increasing the company’s market share.

  • Assist sales team in developing annual sales plan.

  • Provide frequent personal contact with key customers to maintain maximum market coverage, growth and profitability while always ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

  • Effectively communicate with operations team members to ensure plants are meeting customer needs and that proper inventory levels, particularly key products, are sufficiently maintained.

  • Work closely with admin team regarding new accounts and accounts receivable.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in business/marketing, construction management or related discipline preferred.

  • Minimum 1-2 years sales experience (aggregates industry or related field preferred but not required) in larger, complex market areas/territories.

  • Ability to travel, primarily day trips with some overnight as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Industry Knowledge – basic knowledge of construction materials and how they are used.

  • Interpersonal Communication Skills –excellent verbal/written abilities in order to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers and team members.

  • Technology Capabilities - proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point. SharePoint and Viewpoint a plus.

  • Reliability – Capable of working independently and in a team environment when required; Self-starter with excellent planning and administration skills; excellent time management skills; valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle required.

  • Maintain contact with operations regarding schedules, inventories, and specialty product needs.

  • Ethics and integrity – compliance with best practices, and strict compliance with the Company’s Ethics policy and Code of Conduct.

  • Financial – Knowledge regarding pricing strategies, sales forecasting, and ability to achieve objectives/key performance indicators (DSO, profit, ASP, volume, customer service, prospecting for new business, etc.)

  • Forecasting – assists in preparing timely and accurate reports, data and forecasts, work with operations staff regarding inventory, production, etc.,

  • Customer Service – Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.

  • Safety – compliance with the Company’s Safe Driver Policy; adhere to safety regulations (state, federal, company) always.
