What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Assistant position at The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska?
SUMMARY: The Credit Administrative Assistant is under the direct supervision of the Credit Director. Shall perform all duties that pertain to credit and the Omaha Tribal employees and other tribal entities and tribal members requesting loans. Shall assist the Credit Director with the daily functions of credit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and/or RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Must have knowledge of the credit loan's (MOMS) software, credit loan policies, processing credit loan checks, and deposit slip, etc.
- Shall review all credit loan applications to obtain employment and financial status on each loan application and submit when loans are reviewed e.g. hire dates, employment status & type of income.
- Shall do posting of all payroll deductions payments from tribal entities and submit any new payroll deduction changes or deletions to the payroll clerk.
- Must answer phone and take messages. No personal calls.
- Shall file all loan applications, as well other documents that need to be filed.
- Shall check all lease papers to ensure they are signed in proper places before tribal member picks up loan, shall take tribal members' voluntary hold lease papers to the BIA.
- Must keep a log on all incoming & outgoing mail.
- Shall take deposits to the bank.
- Must follow through with directives given by the Credit Director, within the scope the Credit Department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED
- Have a minimum of two years' experience in working in administrative field and have experience in a related field.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, and/or REGISTRATIONS:
- Must have a valid Nebraska Driver's License.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and/or ABILITIES:
- Must type 40 WPM
- Must have computer skills & knowledge of excel.
- Must have excellent math skills.
- Must keep all information pertaining to credit loan accounts in strict confidentiality.
- Must not release any credit information to anyone on loan accounts, except to the loan applicant and the Tribal Council when requested.
- Must have exceptional customer service skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills and working with the public.
- Attend any workshops/training pertaining to the job.
